per·spec·tive (noun): a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.
Life is life. My brother used to always say that when we were younger. Not even sure in context to what exactly, but he used to say it a lot. And life will throw you curveballs a la Sandy Koufax when you least expect it. And when things like that happen, it’s all about perspective. The only thing you can control is how you react, how you respond, and how you continue to show up for yourself and those in your life.
Perspective is truly everything. I think with the speed at which life moves (especially these days), it’s easy to lose sight of that. It’s very easy to get caught up in the chaos. Sometimes it’s important to take a beat, a few deep breaths, and reset. It might be the end of the year, but you can reset at any time.
Sometimes I’m guilty of getting in my head, of going down the rabbit hole, and ruminating. In those moments, I have to actively stop myself and reset and regain perspective. Your thoughts ultimately become your reality, so think wisely and try to remember what life is all about.
It’s about loving and being loved, it’s about doing the best you can and trying to do a little better than the day before, it’s about laughing and smiling and not taking it all so seriously, it’s about giving, it’s about realizing we all have one life and to make the very best of it, surrounded by the people who lift you higher.
So, as 2022 comes to a close, take a minute to reset. Think about what you want out of this life, and go get it. Love hard. Smile even when it’s tough. And do not forget to laugh. Wishing you the happiest of holidays. Talk to you in the new year! xx Julie
