style & trends

I was absolutely thrilled to receive an email from Anya Sarre, one of Hollywood’s most influential trendsetters, and I am even more excited that she is doing a guest post on from prosecco to plaid today. Anya is a nationally recognized celebrity stylist and is known for her impeccable eye and ability to tie any look together with the perfect accessory. Named “Best Television Fashion Stylist” for her appearances on Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and countless other media outlets, she is the go-to fashion expert for Hollywood’s biggest celebrities.

Something all of us have thought about at one time or another is how to create our own, unique style, and how to incorporate trends without overdoing it. Anya is here to share tips on how to do both those things. After reading I hope you will feel even more inspired, as I certainly did.

Tips for Creating Your Own Style

True style comes from within, but don’t be afraid to show it on the outside! When you feel confident with how you look, it can completely change how everyone perceives you—let out your inner fashionista in hot fashion trends.

Finding What’s Right for You

Not every trend or style will look right on you. The key to finding your personal style is to find the clothing that suits your body. When you feel comfortable in your clothes, it automatically gives you more confidence.

The easiest way to create your own style is by finding the best basics for your body type and building off of them. While some basic items, such as jeans, are constantly being reinvented, that doesn’t mean you have to follow the trend and discard items that look good on you. You don’t want to completely change your wardrobe every time something new comes along—a true fashionista will continue to use her own creativity to interpret trends that work for herself and last longer than one season.

The best thing you can do is shop for color, print and styles to stay on top of your inner fashionista. Know your correct size. Style also comes with your ability to mix and match or pair items in your own way. Dare to be bold —slide into a pair of colored denim and pair with a floral patterned wedge heel and patterned hair accessories for the perfect end of summer look. Buy a solid colored maxi dress and switch up your accessories for a versatile look.

Incorporating Trends

Trends can be fun, but you have to be careful. Instead of trying to incorporate too many trends into one outfit, try incorporating one trend into an outfit. Shoes can be the perfect way to accessorize your wardrobe without overspending or overdoing it. From embellished flats to high peep-toed pumps, hit the ground running in your look!

Coming up with your own style is vital to your confidence. Getting caught up in fashion trends can be easy when you don’t have your own personal style. However, when you know what looks good on you and the type of clothing you love, you don’t need trendy clothing to look or feel your best—all you need is your creativity, a pinch of dare devil for trying something new, and your inner fashionista.
