A pair of earrings help complete an outfit, and it’s something I have always loved. When I was a little girl, I would never have left the house without a pair of earrings on. It seems all these years later, and nothing has changed in that department. Given my love for this piece of jewelry, you can imagine my excitement when I was introduced to the Sobella Jewelry line. While Megan Sobel designs much more than just earrings, I can’t help but fall in love with these beauties.
Megan is a self-taught jewelry designer, who started in college making pieces just for fun. She would sell her creations to friends during formal season, and designed on the side as a hobby. She moved to London, and once she got back to the states she picked it back up. She would make pieces for friends and family and some bridal parties. Through word of mouth, her friends, family, and co workers, she had enough demand to start a website. Sobella Jewelry officially launched in November of 2011.
Megan has a full time job working in organizational and leadership development, so she designs her jewelry after work and on the weekends in her New York City apartment. She not only sells the pieces you’ll find on her site, but she does custom designs, as well (she has co-created mini collections with brides for their bridal parties). All of her jewelry is inspired by her own style, as well as her friends’ styles (each piece is named after a friend or family member). ‘I like to make pieces you can wear everyday or ones that you can dress up at night. I like designing versatile pieces, whether it’s big and impactful or small and delicate; each piece is elegant in itself,’ says Megan.
You will find tons of colors in her collection, and each one is more beautiful than the last. Each of Megan’s jewelry pieces is hand wire wrapped using high quality, semi precious and precious stones. Every single piece is hand designed and produced by Megan. The pieces are extremely easy to wear, delicate, and elegant all at the same time.
Shop the entire Sobella Jewelry collection here, and make sure to follow Megan on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates and styles. As well, if you purchase anything between now and the end of November, use the discount code ’20off’ at checkout and receive 20% off your online order. Happy shopping!
