In looking back on 2015, I’m filled with lots of thoughts and feelings. I mentioned in Monday’s post (if you haven’t checked it out, you should, because some fabulous people in my life shared what they learned from 2015 and what they’re most looking forward to in the new year..it’s a fun, inspiring read!) that I felt this past year was a year of personal growth for me. I say this because as I approach 30 years old (next month!), I realize how much I have changed and grown and learned, and a lot of that took place these last 365 days.
I know I still have lots more to learn and I’m sure I’ll change and grow in many different ways in the years to come, but I really do feel I figured out a lot in 2015. I’ve become more secure with my decisions and my choices. People have come into my life this past year who have really impacted me in big ways. And, overall, I’m really happy with how the year went and where I am today.
Whether this is the first time you’re reading my blog (Hi! Welcome! Hope you stay a while.) or the 681st (Yes, I’ve written 681 blog posts in the 4 years I’ve been in this little corner of the web.), I want to thank you. So much. Thank you for reading and coming along on this little journey with me and supporting all my endeavors, such as my first book! It means the world to me.
If you take even just one thing away from my blog this past year, it would be to be happy. This is your life and no one else’s. And it’s certainly not a dress rehearsal. This life is all you have, so you should make the very best of it. Be happy. Surround yourself with great people who lift you up. Make every breath count. Appreciate the little things. Smile. Laugh often. And don’t stop being who you are.
Happy and Healthy New Year! I’m signing off until 2016 (although, let’s be real, I’ll clearly be around on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat (username: jlb4567)), but I have lots of good things in store for the new year, so be sure to check back on the 4th as we kick off 2016 together! Cheers, friends!
