More Mac and Cheese, Please

Last week I was invited to attend a dinner at the new Houston restaurant, B&B Butchers and Restaurant (1814 Washington). I’m still thinking about the food, and seriously can’t wait to go back.

There were 25 of us who got to drink as much wine as our little hearts desired (and, let me tell you, I was feeling that wine the next day…they just kept pouring it! #notcomplaining) and were treated to a delicious meal full of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. My favorites from the night would have to be the meat and cheese board (because I honestly have never met a meat and cheese board that I didn’t like, and theirs was GREAT…charcuterie for the win), the filet mignon, and as you can likely tell from the title of this post, the mac and cheese. Had I not been with 24 other people, I would have inhaled the entire dish that was at our end of the table. But I guess I had to share.

I love this restaurant because it’s casual without being TOO casual (if that makes any sense to you at all…we can call it elegant casual), has a great ambience with exposed brick (my favorite), dark wood, plush chairs, and takes on an urban, contemporary vibe, (and a SICK rooftop), and the food…the most important part…is absolutely SUPERB. And they have an actual butcher shop downstairs. How neat is that? All of this in a building that is 100 years old!

I’ll most certainly be going back soon, and if you live in the Houston area, I highly recommend heading over there. And if you don’t live in Houston, this should absolutely be top of your restaurant list when you visit. Although, I kind of don’t recommend visiting right now considering the heat!! #sweating

And, with that, I’m now craving a steak and mac n cheese. I might be heading back to B&B Butchers sooner than I think, guys.
