Matthew and I went on a mini honeymoon (‘minimoon,’ if you will) after our wedding weekend. We are big time procrastinators and with having had to move out of our loft temporarily and wedding planning and such, we did not have time to plan a honeymoon. We are hoping to go on one next summer, but in the meantime I am going to take you with me to where we ‘mini mooned’…Little Palm Island.
I highly recommend this place if:
- You want to feel like you are a million miles away (even though in reality you’re in Florida, between two of the Keys)
- You don’t want to watch TV (there is only one TV on the entire island)
- You want to turn off your phone and disconnect from the outside world (WiFi is very spotty, as is cell reception)
- You want to have the best meals of your entire life (my absolute favorite meal, to date, was at the restaurant on the island)
- You want to get away with your significant other for a romantic trip, without kids (this is not a kid friendly place)
Overall, we had such a great time on Little Palm Island. It was absolutely perfect for a post wedding vacation. The food was exceptional, the drinks were delicious, the wine list was top notch, the spa services were incredible, and the staff made you feel like you were at home and were there to assist in any thing you might need.
Quite literally, you’re on an island (you take a 10-15 minute boat ride to get there from the mainland). Don’t be surprised if a deer walks up to you while you’re having dinner on the beach. There is one restaurant on the entire island with different menus daily (you can also have any meal brought to your room, the pool, or anywhere else you’d like to eat). The spa is small, but the services are truly the best I’ve had. I’m talking a milk and honey scrub that made my skin feel like a baby’s tush (yes, that’s right…a baby’s tush).
Everyone has their own little bungalow with the most comfortable bed, a living room, bathroom, and an extra outdoor shower. I’m not a ‘bug’ person, but I was really ok when I came across lizards outside our bungalow daily. It’s an island, people, full on sand everywhere you walk. No cars allowed. It’s truly unlike anywhere I’ve ever been. And, with that, let’s get into some pictures so you can go on a visual vacation from your desk right now.
There were lots of hammocks on LPI, and this was, by far, my favorite. I mean, look at that view!
Eating dinner on the beach while watching the sunset was one of my favorite things about this place.

This is SO dreamy! I can’t believe it’s in the US. This is definitely on my list for a future vacation. Congrats again 🙂
This looks so amazing and romantic! I went to a tiny island in the Bahamas once and it was one of the best vacations of my life.
