As I sat down to write this post, I noticed I had 2 blemishes. Apparently my skincare regimen needs a fine tuning?! Jokes. But I do have 2 blemishes if any of you care. ANYWAY, I had the same skincare regimen for quite a while, but when I was at Nordstrom the other day, a lovely lady at the Kiehl’s counter gave me some further insight and I’ve changed things up a bit. You might have seen this post a little while back…I LOVE Kiehl’s. NO, this post is not sponsored by them, BUT it would be totally awesome if it was. Keep reading for my current regimen and some other thoughts on skincare below.
Morning Routine
I don’t wash my face in the morning, as to avoid drying it out (I have normal to combination skin. It isn’t too dry and it’s not too oily. It’s somewhere in the middle. Helpful right?! Ha!). I simply use the Kiehl’s Cucumber Alcohol Free Toner, followed by Kiehl’s Precision Lifting and Pore Tightening Concentrate as my day serum. Once that sets in for a minute, I’ll put on my under eye cream (Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream) and then my moisturizer which has SPF in it (Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream). It also has a slight smell of one of my favorite sunscreens so it makes me happy and makes me think I’m going to the beach or lake. Then I walk outside and realize, nope, just off to work. #letdown
Night Routine
I wash my face with Olay Total Effects Revitalizing Foaming Cleanser (I’ve been using this stuff for as long as I can remember…it’s the cat’s pajamas. I don’t even like cats, but I’ve always wanted to use that saying). Then I use my same Kiehl’s toner that I use in the morning, followed by their holy grail product Midnight Recovery Concentrate (SO. freaking. good.). I let that set in for a minute, and then I put my eye cream on (same one as in the morning). As of late, I do not put moisturizer on at night because I feel the MRC keeps my skin hydrated enough. Of course, if you have super dry skin, I’d probably use moisturizer at night. I’m not a skincare expert, but that’s my opinion, folks. And the final step is dealing with any blemishes I have at the time, if I have any. I either use a cream my dermatologist prescribed me way back (although I’m sure it’s expired at this point, sooo….) OR what I mentioned recently, Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion.
BAM. DONE.
I do have a question for all of you, though! Considering I have these beautiful blemishes at the moment, I do want to know – anything you swear by to get rid of these ugly little things? I’m always on the lookout for something new because once a month when blemishes come about, I want them gone as fast as humanly possible (don’t we all?!)
Always looking for new skin care products, thanks for the recs!
Of course!! I am, too! xo, Julie
