Father/Daughter dance at my wedding
(don’t mind how much I’m sweating..it was a long night of dancing!)
He doesn’t want a tie, trust me!
Dads are hard to shop for. They really are. I mean, men, in general, are difficult when it comes to gift giving. Am I right or am I right? So, how about this – forget the ties, forget the wallets, and let’s get a tiny bit more creative this year. While I’m not really reinventing the wheel because these aren’t necessarily brand new items to the market nor am I the only one who has stumbled upon them, BUT I do think it’s quite a good little roundup here, if I do say so myself. So, let’s get into it, shall we? Keep scrolling for my top 10 Father’s Day gifts for 2015, and why I love each of them. Cheers to the dads!
1. Customized Map Art Print: What’s your dad’s favorite city in the world? How cool to have that city on his wall day in and day out. (The Map Collection)
2. Harding-Lane Needlepoint Hat: I’ve gotten Matthew 2 of these (the skier and the golfer) and my dad and brother one each for various gifts. They LOVE them. This line covers all hobbies on their hats, so it’s personal, too. (Harding-Lane)
3. The Microbrewer Homebrewing Kit by Box Brew Hits: If your dad is into beer, this is the gift for him. And just wait until football season starts up, this little device will come in extra handy. (AHAlife)
4. College Football Stadium Art: College football is QUITE an important thing to many dads out there, and these three-dimensional tributes to their favorite college football stadium is the next best thing to the real deal. (Uncommon Goods)
5. Apple Watch: If I hear about the stinkin’ Apple Watch one more time from my husband, my dad, or my brother, I may pull my hair out. Ok, I kid I kid. I’m a huge Apple fan, BUT it’s just a watch (if those 3 men in my life are reading this, they’re going to yell at me for saying that!). However, if your dad is a tech guy or an Apple fan, this would be a heck of a gift for him (just make sure he didn’t already order one, because, yes, husband/dad/brother were 3 of the ones up at 2am to place their orders when it came out.) (Apple) And if this type of watch isn’t your daddy’s jam, Shinola is another stylish (less ‘tech-y’) choice that will certainly win them over.
6. Marshmallow ‘Boozy’ Pack: Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it?! Beer, Bourbon, Gin, and Fireball marshmallows – what dad wouldn’t like these?! S’mores by the fire pit just got way more exciting. (Manor)
7. Whiskey Soaked Toothpicks: I feel like a lot of my gift ideas are centered around alcohol. #sorryimnotsorry However, these are legit. Very cool, indeed. (Manready Mercantile – P.S. Stay tuned to My Red Glasses next week because we’ll be doing a much more in-depth story on tons of other amazing gift ideas from Manready.)
8. Creed Cologne: Ok, I know. Cologne is right up there with ties and wallets, but not Creed cologne! LOVE Creed cologne. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but your dad will absolutely love it. There are tons of scents to choose from, and the bottles are beautiful. (Neiman Marcus)
9. Happy Socks: You may have read my post here, so you already know how much I love this brand. And what a perfect gift! Plain white or black socks are just boring. Step up your father’s sock game with these fun printed ones. (Happy Socks)
10. Monogrammed Steak Brand: If your dad is a grilling master (mine is!), they will totally appreciate this gift. I mean who wouldn’t want their initials branded on their steaks? Ok, totally unnecessary, but still neat. (Williams-Sonoma)
First Look with my dad on my wedding day. I absolutely love how this moment was captured.
