My Favorite Makeup Mirror

Makeup-Mirror-1

I realized the other day that lately I’ve been putting on my makeup while standing up in my bathroom leaning over the sink. Not the most comfortable position, clearly. I’ve gone from doing my makeup at a vanity to doing my makeup sitting on my floor in front of a floor length mirror to my latest discovery, in your FaceTime camera on your computer. Why I don’t just stick to one way, I’m not quite sure.

When The Container Store reached out about their simplehuman Sensor Mirror, I jumped at the opportunity to partner with them, for a few different reasons. For one, The Container Store is one of my favorite stores, as previously mentioned, and I could spend hours in there walking up and down the aisles trying to find new ways to organize things in my home. Secondly, the only makeup mirror I own is a little one that serves no purpose beyond looking nice on my vanity.

I received the makeup mirror, jumped to open the box, and my first reaction was that it was MUCH bigger than I anticipated, and I was thrilled. It’s a sleek looking mirror, with an LED light and a great magnifying situation. You can see every little detail on your face in this bad boy. While you might think that’s not always a good thing, I, personally, like to see such things so I know where I need to tweeze more, conceal more, and so on.

The coolest part (or so I think) is that you can charge the mirror/light with a USB port. I don’t know why, but I find that very neat (it’s possible I’m just a dork). And once it’s charged it’ll last up to 5 weeks AND a red light flashes to tell you when it needs to be recharged, so there’s no guessing there. And, finally, the mirror senses (hence why it’s likely called a ‘sensor mirror’) when you’re no longer near it, and the light shuts off automatically. This is very high tech, guys.
