Houston is a large city…very large (4th largest I believe?!), and there are TONS of places you can go within the city. The restaurant options are endless and the shopping destinations are pretty vast.
A part of Houston that I have always loved and tend to frequent quite often is Rice Village. Aside from the parking situation (but rumor has it, they are working on this!), I adore everything about this cute corner of the city. Houston, in general, doesn’t allow for too much walking, and it makes me so happy that I can park anywhere in Rice Village and walk around from store to store, stopping for a good meal along the way.
A few weeks back, Rice Village invited me to spend a day in their parts (you might have seen if you follow along on Snapchat – jlb4567), and of course I jumped at the opportunity, as it’s already one of my favorites. Candace and I started out at Helen, which, if you haven’t been, you need to go, and fast. It is a Greek restaurant that actually is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It’s SO SO SO good.
After the delicious meal (and wine) there we then went over to BlueMercury. While I had heard of BlueMercury for quite some time, I hadn’t made my way into one of their stores. And why did I wait so long? It’s fantastic. Candace got her makeup done (seen above), as she had a big event that night, but I’ll be going back to get my makeup done in the coming months, which I’m very excited about. I couldn’t resist snatching up the R+Co. Dry Shampoo Paste. I’ve only used it a couple times, but already a big fan. R + Co. is the best, even if just for the packaging alone.
We ended the day at Stylingbar, where I got my hair blown out. Rees did my hair, and I’ll be going back very soon. He did such a great job (and I have a lot of hair to work with, which sometimes can be difficult!), he was quick, and all in all, I highly recommend this salon. Highly.
After I was finished getting my hair done, I walked around for a bit and then headed home. It was such a fun afternoon – thank you, Rice Village!
