The Wedding Series: The Ceremony

Going into our first florist meeting, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted in terms of decor for both the ceremony and the reception. For the ceremony, I wanted it to look and feel ethereal, romantic, soft, dreamy, and modern. I didn’t want any flowers in the ceremony (except for my bouquet and the wedding party bouquets). I wanted it to be warm, with amber tones, and lots of candles and draping. Well, Always Flowers took that little description and gave me the ceremony I quite literally dreamt of. It was exactly what I wanted, in every single way.

Our chairs were acrylic chiavari with a grey/silver satin cushion (and we had programs placed on each). The aisle was white and lined with candles on mirrored fixtures. The chuppah was draped with hanging candles on top.

Our rabbi and grandparents all walked to the strings playing ‘Imagine.’ Matthew and his parents, as well as the entire wedding party walked down to ‘Bittersweet Symphony.’ My parents walked down just a bit (to ‘Bittersweet Symphony’) and then I walked in and met them and walked with both of them the rest of the way. I walked in to my cousin, Erica, singing ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love.’ At the end, we all walked out to the fast/’reggae’ version of ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love.’

The ceremony was short and sweet (approximately 20-25 minutes), which is exactly what Matthew and I wanted.
