I know, traditionally, the bride and groom aren’t supposed to sleep in the same room the night before the wedding; however, Matthew and I were a bit ‘untraditional’ and we did sleep together. Reason being is I wanted everything to feel normal when we woke up the day of the wedding. I’m used to sleeping with Matthew and that’s where I’m most comfortable, so why change it up.
Saturday morning (the day of the wedding) we woke up, went to get coffee and breakfast downstairs while visiting with some of our wedding guests, and then we both went our separate ways. Matthew went with his boys to the pool, and I went for a bit to the pool with the girls and then to our bridal suite (pictured below).
Because I had quite a large bridal party, had we all gotten our hair and makeup done together in the bridal suite, we would have had to start at 8am, which I know no one wanted to do (including me). What we ended up doing is the entire bridal party came to the suite around noon for lunch and to hang out. Around 1, the ladies went their separate ways to get their hair and makeup done, and then everyone met back at the suite around 3 or so. My mom, mother-in-law, sister-in-laws, and grandmas got their hair and makeup done in the suite with me.
It was a very relaxed day. I did not feel nervous or anxious at all, and it was truly enjoyable. We all hung out, people came in and out of the suite to say hi, we ate, drank, and had a great time. Some snapshots below.
