My name is Julie and I’m a self proclaimed introvert.
I’m not a shy person by any means, but I’ve learned a lot about myself the past couple years, and I’ve learned that I relish my alone time. Don’t get me wrong, I love hanging out with friends and family, but I recharge best when I’m by myself. Whether that means binge watching Pretty Little Liars (guilty! who the F is A/Charles?!?!), doing yoga, reading, writing, grabbing a solo lunch, I’m very content doing my own thing.
It’s funny because I think back some odd years ago and I absolutely despised being alone. I would get bored so easily, I’d crave time with other people like it was nobody’s business, and I just generally didn’t enjoy ‘me time.’ Well, fast forward to my ripe old age of 29, and things have changed. Oh yes they have.
By definition, an introvert is a shy, reticent person, and a person predominantly concerned with their own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things. Like I said, I am, by no means, shy. However, I am very in tune with my thoughts and feelings. I do care about others a lot, but I just really value and appreciate my time alone.
Does this make me sound lame? Maybe. The thing is, I love life. I love people. I just also love ‘me time.’
So, I guess what I’ve concluded is that I don’t necessarily fit into the exact introvert mold, but I feel I am absolutely one to a certain degree.
What do you think? Are you an introvert or extrovert? Can you be both? Let’s chit chat about it.

I’m a proud introvert, too! I’ve taken the tests 100 times and always get the same results (ISFJ). I just hate the perception of introverts — that we are shy and losers. It’s not that way at all…
Exactly!! You’re right. It’s NOT that way at all – an introvert can totally be outgoing and fun!! xo Julie
I am with you! I feel that i am both. Sometimes i am in major need of socialization (with a nice small group of course) but oh how much do i need my alone time. I think a good balance is is what makes us healthy and sane =)

Exactly!! I love being social, too, at times, but I also LOVE alone time. A good balance is key for sure. AGREED. xo Julie
I’m with you, i’ve been a total introvert for the last few years also. I don’t think it’s a bad thing 🙂
I think it’s a great thing!!! Glad I’m not alone in this 😉 xo, Julie
