Tucked In

I love the look of a blouse or shirt tucked in. I think it adds the perfect amount of polish to any ensemble. My favorite way to wear a top tucked in is with an edgier skirt, fabulous shorts, or the perfect pair of pants. While I am a fan of an untucked, ‘flowy’ blouse, sometimes you just need to tuck it in, and the look instantly changes.

I love the tucked in look too, but sometimes it throws my proportions off. I do love the unexpected tee shirt tucked into sequins skirt picture you pulled, super cute!

I love a good “casual” tuck. Perfectly undone so that it doesn’t look intentional–it ends up looking so chic! Although I do have a short torso, so I need to be careful with my tucking sometimes!

  7. I love flowy blouses too but sometimes they look a little too flowy so tucking them in is a lovely option! It’s tough to pick a favorite look but I think I’m smitten with the lacy shirt and jeans the most!

I agree, I love the look of tucked shirts- but how do you prevent them from looking like you have a pouchy tummy? Every time I try to tuck the extra fabric looks like an extra roll. Ugh…

Totally understand!! I find shirts/blouses/tanks that are tight enough (not skin tight though) with not too much extra fabric and that usually works. Or I make sure the bottoms I’m wearing are a bit more fitted and then if there is extra fabric from the tucked in top, it’s usually ok! xo, Julie

I agree. I have a few outfits that I reserve for the tucked in look. But if I’m eating (a lot) I always leave the blouse outside. Gotta hide the food baby.

  12. I work in a really conservative corporate office so when I’m not wearing a dress I pretty much have to tuck in my blouses! I think it usually looks better anyway – especially with pencil skirts! Great inspiration!

  13. i love the tucked in look as well! as someone with an hourglass shape, I think it is the perfect way to accentuate a dropped waist.

i love the look of tucking in my tops, it gives me a waist and didn’t give my outfit the look of being baggy especially if the shirt leans towards baggy
