Heralded as the “Bright Lights City”, Las Vegas is renowned for being one of the hottest tourist destinations not only in the United States, but the entire world. Sidenote: I haven’t been yet! Can you even believe it?! I was supposed to go a few years back and had to cancel the trip, so I’m seriously itching to go like you can’t believe. The city has an abundance of attractions to keep visitors occupied, ranging from shows, hikes, casinos and even a zoo! Yes, a zoo! But, with all these possible activities, you might be wondering what sort of clothing to take with you. Well firstly, it is massively dependent on what time of year you are visiting. In June, July and August, temperatures can sky rocket, so during the day time you’d be wise to wear shorts, a strappy top and a fabulous hat to make sure you don’t get too hot. Or just put on a bathing suit, get yourself a cocktail, and stay in a pool! The winter months get chillier, meaning you might want to pack a thick coat if you are planning on heading out at night time.
Choosing the right footwear is highly important, as you don’t want to be complaining that your feet are hurting half way through walking from casino to casino to store to store to restaurant to restaurant! A sturdy pair would be best suited, as the comfort and durability will be perfect for any activity you are partaking in. If you are going to be leisurely strolling around the Vegas strip, flip-flops or sandals would be suitable for the day, especially in the summer months. But be warned, you may be denied entry to restaurants or bars in the evening in footwear like this. So get those strappy sexy heels on!
But it is the night time when Vegas truly comes to life, so you will need to have your Sunday best on to fit in with the glitz and glamour of the Strip. If you are planning on going out for a meal, it would be wise to wear a dress or blouse, as many of the restaurants enforce strict dress codes. If it is a casino you are wanting to visit, then be prepared to make yourself dazzle, as Vegas is home to some of the finest gaming venues in the world, of course. A cocktail dress and high-heels would be a great look while at the roulette wheel, unless you prefer a night in on an iphone casino. To complete your outfit, a clutch bag and a blazer and lots of jewels would be your best bet. You want to look the part. This is Vegas after all!
